About Me

I’m Linda Goodman Pillsbury, a licensed clinical social worker, certified EMDR therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant. I help people actually heal from trauma and anxiety. And I help people overcome their blocks so they can perform at their best.

I have a private practice in Glendale, California where I see adults, teens, and sometimes children. I lead Stress Reduction and Intensive Trauma Healing groups at community organizations and Restorative Family and Group meetings wherever people can come together. Success coaching is in person or by phone. I have a special interest in helping people heal from violence.

My undergraduate education was at Harvard. I majored in Fine Arts and graduated cum laude in 1977. I moved to Los Angeles to work in the entertainment business and after a variety of production and development jobs I left the business and started my own publishing company. Perspective Publishing’s mission, “Helping Parents, Inspiring Kids,” has been fulfilled through publication of several award-winning parenting and children’s books.

As a continuation of my commitment to helping others, I returned to school and graduated on the Dean’s List from USC School of Social Work in 2004. My clinical training includes internships at Kaiser Permanente Department of Psychiatry, Huntington Hospital Employee Assistance Program and a summer internship at UCLA Parenting & Children’s Friendship Program. Since graduation I have worked with both adults and children as a therapist at a community mental health center, a residential treatment program for abused children, and an adult drug and alcohol residential treatment center, and a homeless shelter.

In 2006 I completed EMDR Training Levels 1 and 2, and since then EMDR has been an integral part of my practice. I completed additional training In 2009 to become a Certifed EMDR Therapist, and in 2012 an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. I am also a Facilitator for EMDR Humanitarian Assistance trainings. I am also Certified in both Brainspotting and Havening Techniques®, both of which integrate seamlessly with EMDR, and together provide amazingly powerful and efficient healing.

I was licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences in 2007 and opened a private practice in 2008. I continue to serve the wider community through pro bono and low fee clinical work in a variety of settings.
